Wind Stength: 12-17kts
Surf / Sea State: wavy lumpy
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: sunny
Max Speed: 25.3 (knots - unless stated otherwise)

Arrive at Manor with Andy M mid afternoon and Pete was out on long bd 9.5 which seemed big as there was a sea breeze. Time was tight and wasn't sure if wind / tide would cause issues. Rigged 8.5 Goya Mark pro / Patrik 145L free ride. With hindsight that kit was too big and it should have been Bolt 135 / Goya Mark 7.8, as the wind freshened all the time. Manor carpark takes longer to change kit so stayed out on the big kit which was on the limit in the gusts. The 8.5 Goya Mark is superb for speed with comfort, so glad I sold the RRD 8.6 firewing, which was great but hard work!. Andy was flying on the 135 Bolt / 8.2 North e type, but he stayed at the launch site which was a bit close to the docks for my liking when wind with tide, so headed up to the pier for several close reaches. Unfortunately my GT31 wont start up, so had to use my Tomtom watch which isn't a windsurf speed watch (so says TT) so speed is not reliable, although the other data is. Heart rate peaked at 155 at high speeds and calorie burn was 1895 for the session, much higher than gyms and far more enjoyable.
Manor sea was superb, as on the way in the swell rolled perfect to run between, up then down and on the way out instead of hitting waves full on like the dip you could bear off and go round them as they were separate. Water was flat on the inside for gybing, although still not getting enough sailing as dropped 25% of gybes. Landed at the pier and was going to dip, but was tired, so sailed back in the freshening wind over powered. Sea was big out, so had to take care with the big board which spun out a few times. The Patrik free ride is a good board but a bit boring if am honest. Its not edgy enough for me, but its honest and a genuine easy to use freeride. Chased Andy in on the Bolt 135 / 8.2 north E type, but he was pulling away as expected. Pete G came in to change down but didn't see him. A non local was sailing 6.0 Green north sail and Fanatic 120 in just shorts and waist harness. It was warm but not that warm! Top session.
